Located in the Northern part of Arizona, Sedona is a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. It is a small city (10,000 permanent residents) and Sedona is a popular tourist destination for those looking to see the magnificent red rock formations and/or experience a higher sense of spirituality.
*Make sure you pack some sunscreen as the temperature can reach up to 40 degrees in the summer and there is VERY little shade throughout the city!
Drive an additional 2 hours North and you will come upon the Grand Canyon!
Without a doubt, one of the best things I’ve ever seen! The Grand Canyon should be on every ‘must see’ list circulating around the internet. Take some time to walk around the top of the Canyon to fully appreciate the different views and perspectives. It is also possible to hike into the Canyon, but you will need to plan ahead for this (permits, camping gear etc).
Whether you can spend only a few hours, or you’re fortunate enough to take a week long adventure, simply seeing the Grand Canyon will be a worthwhile and incredible experience!
Arizona, as a whole is a pretty awesome State. If you’re into nice weather and insanely cool mountains, I’d advise that you check out Arizona sooner rather than later – as the variety is virtually unmatched!
