Located about an hour south of Frankfurt and in the south-west of Germany, Heidelberg is a fairly popular tourist destination. The Neckar river runs through the city and there is a massive park connected to the river.
Heidelberg has a beautiful old town punctuated by the popular Heidelberg castle. Tell anyone you are visiting Heidelberg and the castle is the first thing that’s talked about.
* a view of the castle from across the bridge.
Heidelberg is the oldest University town in Germany and has a population of 150,000. It is a relatively small city but it is worth spending at least 3 days here in my opinion. It is nice to hang-out near the river, go swimming and simply relax.
Come check out this ‘off the beaten path’ destination!
Hi Nate! I’ve found an interesting text about Warsaw written by Australian traveller. Maybe you’ll find it useful: http://www.wheressharon.com/europe-with-kids/what-to-do-in-warsaw-poland/
